Short Film Finds Production Home In Umatilla

Filmmakers are in Umatilla this week working on a short film that is expected to be a part of the upcoming Orlando Independent Filmmakers JOLT challenge.
‘The Persistence of Time’ is expected to be a nine-minute piece about a pair of time-traveling detectives who are sent to investigate a cold case murder in 1956.
Among the sets of the film is Umatilla’s Fox Den Country Inn, and crews were in town early this week shooting scenes at the historic downtown motel.
The idea of the film was entered into the OIF competition earlier this year, and was selected into the challenge, which led to the current filming.  The feature is expected to be completed in September, and ready for viewing in October.
The JOLT Challenge seeks films of a PG 13 rating that provide a shock or surprise.  Horror, mystery, and science fiction are among the areas that can be a part of the challenge.
The movie is seeking funding on the crowdsourcing site indiegogo.com.  By searching the movie title on the site, it can be found that filmmakers are seeking $3,500 to help fund production, and as of Monday had raised $2,200.
Eventually, the film is expected to be distributed via the film festival circuit, according to crew members working the set on Monday.
