Arson Arrest After Eustis Fire

A 22-year-old Eustis woman is facing arson charges in connection with a fire at 2220 Titcomb Street in Eustis.  Autumn Walker has been charged with starting a fire that severely damaged the home and reportedly confessed to the crime shortly afterward.
Reports indicate Walker, who has lived at the home with her grandfather, intentionally ignited a mattress in her bedroom on January 16 after becoming angry with her grandfather, James Kilfoyle, over the sale of an inoperable Jeep.
Walker was seen by witnesses outside of the home with a sock she had lit on fire, which she later told investigators she had intended to use to burn her grandfather’s vehicle, but decided otherwise.  She instead left the scene on foot, and was located shortly after officers began their investigation.
Walker told officers she started the fire in her bedroom to prevent her from having ‘a place to come back to’.
Walker was jailed on an arson charge, and on Monday, January 23, remained in the Lake County Jail on that charge as well as a felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer/firefighter/EMT, etc.
