Umatilla Man Dead In Morning Crash

    A Umatilla man suffered fatal injuries in an early morning crash on Tuesday, July 23. The man, 32 was pronounced dead after being transported to AdventHealth Waterman following a crash on CR 450A southeast of Umatilla.
   Florida Highway Patrol reports state the man, 32, was westbound on CR 450A around 6:11 a.m. in a 1996 Honda Civic when a 2008 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 40-year-old Umatilla man pulled out from the Pine Street intersection, into the path of the Civic.
   The front of the Honda struck the Toyota on the left side.
   The driver of the truck was transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital with injuries described as serious. The FHP report said it was unknown if either driver was wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
