'Big Orange' To Be Celebrated On Saturday

Sunsational Farms’ Big Orange will be the center of attention this coming Saturday, February 8, when the Umatilla agritourism business hosts its 8th Annual Big Orange Day.  Running from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., the event will feature over 70 vendors, carnival games, bounce houses, food trucks, music, and more at the farm, located at 40541 Roger Giles Road next to the North Lake Regional Park.
Big Orange Day celebrates the farm's iconic Big Orange, a large, fiberglass relic of Florida's mid-century roadside kitsch.  Salvaged from an abandoned state along US 441 in Mount Dora, the Big Orange was restored by the Faryna family nearly a decade ago after purchasing it and moving it to Umatilla.  Today, the Big Orange sits as a revered landmark at Sunsational Farms, which promotes agriculture and agritourism in addition to operating a large gift and ice cream shop.
Big Orange Day is free to attend, and the public is invited to come enjoy the special day.  For more information, visit sunsationalfarms.com or call 352-771-2013.
