Hotly Contested Primary Campaign Arrives

    The fall primary election will wrap up next Tuesday, August 20, but Lake County voters have already been making their voices heard.  As of Monday, August 12, nearly 15,000 mail-in ballots have been received by the Supervisor of Elections Office, and just over 3,500 votes have been cast at early voting locations around the county.

State Senate Campaign:Bowen Kou Files Defamation Suits

    Florida State Senate candidate Bown Kou has filed defamation lawsuits against a conservative website and a state senate election committee after a campaign flyer distributed last week called into question the intentions of some of Kou’s supporters.

Lawsuit Filed As Politicians Line Up Against Mark Jordan Candidacy

Monday afternoon saw a lawsuit fled in the 5th Circuit Court for Lake County calling for Mark Jordan to be removed from the election ballot this fall. Jordan is seeking to take the post of Lake County Property Appraiser from incumbent Carey Baker, who fled the suit after Jordan’s last-minute fling, a move that created a frestorm in county politics that as of yet has shown no sign of fading.
