Hotly Contested Primary Campaign Arrives
The fall primary election will wrap up next Tuesday, August 20, but Lake County voters have already been making their voices heard. As of Monday, August 12, nearly 15,000 mail-in ballots have been received by the Supervisor of Elections Office, and just over 3,500 votes have been cast at early voting locations around the county.
The votes represent just under 7.5% of the county's 243,000 registered voters, and the numbers are expected to grow substantially in the coming days as several hotly contested elections reach the finish line

Florida State Senate candidate Bown Kou has filed defamation lawsuits against a conservative website and a state senate election committee after a campaign flyer distributed last week called into question the intentions of some of Kou’s supporters.
